Mackay Hospital Foundation is a local, independent, community driven not-for-profit charity to support the Mackay Base Hospital and all the other public hospitals in the Mackay Hospital & Health Service district. The Foundation has over 100 volunteers who regularly donate their time to work directly within the hospital and community health services. Since the Mackay Hospital Foundation launched in 2011 it has grown with a board of directors who volunteer and lead the non-for-profit organisation into a prosperous future.
