Cadenza Films bv is a Dutch media production company. The aim of Cadenza Films is to produce feature movies in the English and the Dutch language, which combine quality with realistic commercial possibilities. TIRZA based on the novel by bestselling Dutch author Arnon Grunberg, opened at the Dutch Film Festival in October 2010 to rave reviews and won a Golden Film award (100.000 visitors) within a few weeks. The film was also awarded Golden Calfs for best direction and best editing. Tirza was the Dutch submission for the Academy Awards 2011. The film was produced in co-production with Fu Works Productions. A new project that Cadenza is co-producing with Fu Works Productions is SÜSKIND, a story based on true events, set in Amsterdam during World War II. The film is a tribute to Walter Süskind, the unsung hero who saved more than a thousand children and adults from deportation to the German death camps. Shooting will start in April 2011, in Belgium, The Netherlands and Romania.
