Sound Justice Initiative, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by educators and community leaders, provides learner-centered and trauma-informed teaching for people incarcerated and court-involved people in re-entry. SJI was created on the knowledge that liberal arts education transforms lives. It substantially reduces recidivism, the need for public funding in the criminal justice system, expands tax base, heals families & communities. SJI courses include those in the liberal arts and humanities, and employment skills training.
