SEPY is the Greek Seed Trade Association. Our Association was founded in 1983 (former EEPES) in order to support the creation, growth and commerce of certified seeds and generally of certified propagating material in Greece. SEPY members, who are active not only in our country but also in other markets abroad, number over 30 companies that create, produce and trade seeds from from almost all crops. Why certified propagating material? Why do we battle for the 100% use of certified seeds by the Greek producer? Simply because a certified seed is a pure seed with germination capacity, a seed free of pathogens, a seed within the framework of the National and European legislation which respects the global environment and international treaties. These days, when our agricultural production ensures Food, Feed, Fiber and Fuel, the use of certified seeds is the most critical factor for the production of the final qualitative and certified product. We, at SEPY, work daily for the continuous upgrading of propagating material and the smooth operation of trades within a legal framework, that respects and serves the creator, the seed producer, facilitator / trader, the Greek producer, the trader of the final product, the processor, the retailer and society in general, which consumes the final product obtained.
