Essex and Suffolk Rivers Trust

East Anglian rivers are a great resource for leisure – walkers, photographers, anglers and canoeists to name a few – and for wildlife. They are also essential water sources for drinking and for agriculture. But our rivers are not always as healthy as they should be, so our mission is to improve them and to educate people in how important this is. Formed in 2013 we are an organisation with a practical emphasis on projects. The Essex and Suffolk Rivers Trust (ESRT) is a Charity (number 1157392) and Company Limited by Guarantee (8834787) and is proud to have been formed under the umbrella of the national Rivers Trust. Although legally an independent organisation ESRT will continue to work in close co-operation with the national body and benefit from the national guidance and training. Our projects include water quality improvements through land management change, natural flood management, fish and eel passage, groundwater quality and quatity studies, tree planting, in stream and riparian habitat enhancement and more.
