Flag for Hope

Our Story The Flag for Hope Project was started by a small group of friends who realized that no amount of talking around the backyard grill would make a difference. We knew that we had to take action if we wanted to have an impact. Our visionary artist and U.S. Army Veteran, Marcos Antonio, spent more than 10 years traveling the globe using art as a way to unite humanity. His selflessness and sincerity ignited our desire to bring his message of unity, honor, and peace home to America. We embarked with no personal agendas, no politics – just a passion for our country and our flag. So we set out with a blank 9'x5' canvas with the hopes of turning it into an American Flag by asking people all over the country to place a single hand or finger impression in acrylic paint. We invested in each other, we devoted massive amounts of time, money, effort, and talent. We made personal and professional sacrifices. We faced incredible adversity including health, personal tragedy, and tremendous logistical challenges. We did absolutely everything within our power to create the Flag for Hope. We completed more than 300,000 air miles. We traveled more than 50,000 miles in rental cars. We visited more than 500 locations in 200 cities across our great nation. The Flag for Hope received it’s final hand impression on September 18, 2016 in Dallas, TX.
