Vision MH provides a hospital service with in-patient accommodation for people to receive care and treatment for a range of mental health issues. Cornerstone House is a large detached house with an additional newly built annex within the grounds. There are a number of facilities available including a library, gymnasium / games room, therapy studios and grounds. The hospital is situated approximately one mile from the local high street, shopping, leisure activities and a rail link. The hospital has 30 registered beds and provides treatment for both informal patients and persons liable to be detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (2007). The unit is designated restricted access or locked rehabilitation which also allows us to provide care to those not detained under the Mental Health Act. We offer a treatment and recovery based mental health service that provides assessment and active, intensive multidisciplinary care and treatment for individuals suffering from mental illness. Since opening the service has followed a recovery model of care delivery. The key to success has been to develop a comprehensive programme of care with a primary focus on engagement. This is developed in collaboration with the individual and tailored to their needs and interests. Cornerstone House helps people with longstanding mental health problems.
