Originally created with a local and regional dimension, since 2001 the CTM has been operating nationally after its registration in the Book-Registry of the Interministerial Commission of Science and Technology (CICYT) as a Center for Innovation and Technology (CIT), with number 67. In turn, also in 2001, the OTRI (Office of Transmission of Research Results) of the Center was registered with number 164 in the Book-Registry established for this purpose.
