Loyola University Chicago ABSN
absn.luc.eduSince 1992, the Accelerated BSN track at Loyola University Chicago has fast-tracked hundreds of students into the nursing profession. One of several accredited programs available through the university’s Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing, the track gives individuals with a bachelor’s degree in another field of study the chance to earn a BSN in as few as 16 months. With locations in Downers Grove and Maywood, Illinois, the Accelerated BSN Track offers start dates in January and August, making it highly accessible to qualified students. Comprising four, full-time semesters of rigorous curriculum, the track uses three types of learning to prepare students to sit for the NCLEX-RN® licensure exam with confidence. 1. Core nursing courses 2. Nursing skills and simulation labs 3. Clinical learning experiences at top health-care facilities Framed within the context of Jesuit values, the Accelerated BSN track also combines faith and reason with intellectual rigor to graduate competent, compassionate nurse leaders who serve with a commitment to social justice and the common good. Choose a Learning Style Students who apply to the ABSN track have the option to complete their core nursing courses online (Downers Grove), or on campus (Maywood). No matter the chosen option, students receive the same high-quality nursing education that today’s health-care employer’s demand. Learn from a Leader in Nursing Education The Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing is home to the oldest baccalaureate nursing program in Illinois, with the first class admitted in 1935. Today, the school, anchored by the nationally recognized Loyola University Medical Center, maintains its leadership status in nursing education, offering undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. Given the interprofessional nature of health care, Niehoff graduates know how to function as part of a health-care team that works in concert to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
