Clarify.Media
www.clarify.mediaClarify Media offers consulting, strategic planning, DEI and fundraising planning services as well as speaking and training in the field of media and information literacy. Our clients have included PEN American, The New York Amsterdam News and The News Literacy Project. For the New York Amsterdam News we designed and continue to execute a successful grant seeking and fundraising strategy for a news organization that had previously never received philanthropic funding. We led the application process for more than a dozen grants and have successfully written and stewarded grants from Borealis Philanthropy's Racial Equity in Journalism Fund, The Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative, Solutions Journalism Network and the Fund for Investigative Journalism totaling more than $500,000 over two years. For PEN America we helped execute their 2021 disinformation defense training program, leading multiple sessions with different communities of color, conducting train the trainer workshops to empower community leaders as well as sessions for community members at large to train them in how to detect, and protect themselves from disinformation around COVID-19. With the News Literacy Project we focus on providing professional development training for educators and journalists around the world teaching them how to better understand the misinformation landscape and spot and fight against disinformation while also helping their students and audiences navigate a media landscape that is increasingly complex. We have trained educators and journalists across the United States, Spain, Portugal, The United Kingdom, Malaysia, Singapore, The Philippines and Colombia working with US Embassies and local NGOs.
