The Greek Producers Association (Greek Film Television & Multimedia Producers Association) is the oldest unions in the film and mass media industry, dating back to over 60 years ago. All the great producer of the industry, including Fillopimen Finos, Klearhos Kinitsiotis, James Paris, Kostas Karajannis, Antonis Karatzopoulos, Soulis Georgiadis, Mihalis Lefakis, George Karajannis, Theodoros (Dodos) Karajannis and others have been among its member and presidents. It shhould be noted that the Union has had a permanent partecipation throughout all these years in the institutional organizations of the trade, such as the Filmmaking Advisory Council of the Ministry of Culture, the Special Committee of the Ministry of Press and the Mass Media, the Intercororate Committee of the industry, the intermediary organization of professionals for the evaluation of the proposals submitted to the MEDIA II programme, and so on. The purpose of the Union is the pursuit of protection and promotion of ethical, financial and professional interests of its members as well as the improvement and upgrading of the Greek Cinema, Television and Video productions and any other audiovisual means. The goals of our Union are pursued and achieved through the coltivation and development of professional ethics amoung its members, as well as the spirit of collective solidarity and cooperation amoung them. The pursuit of the Union is to ensue favourable terms for the production and use of Greek Cinema Films in general, for the existence, survival and development of the Greek Cinema trade, domestic and abroad, as well as in international competitions. Today it includes about 100 members who are responsible for about 85 % of the total output in the Greek audiovisual industry.
