Farmers Mutual Insurance Company in Ellinwood Kansas is a single state mutual insurance company serving all of Kansas through a network of Independent Insurance Agents. Founded in 1896 with the principal belief in the mutual concept of sharing in one another’s losses, with neighbor helping neighbor. FMI was formed initially by a group of German immigrant farmers who could not obtain insurance protection in rural Kansas.
