About us : 1.History : ABI has started it’s work at the grass-roots level from the 1992 but it got registered in the year 2009 under Indian Trust Act (1882) in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It aims at improving the living conditions of people affected by poverty, violence, and the negation of their basic social rights. It pays particular attention to certain target groups such as children, women, Dalits and poor segments of the population. ABI fosters values of economic justice, dignity, equality before the law, peaceful resolution of social issues and democratic participation. ABI conducts its activities in the greater Varanasi area with urban and rural communities both. 2.Vision and Mission : To improve the living conditions of people affected by poverty, violence, and the negation of their basic social rights. To work with the rights-based approach for certain target groups such as children, women, Dalits and poor segments of the population. To foster and emphasize the values of economic justice, dignity, equality before the law, peaceful resolution of social issues and democratic participation. 3.Work area : ABI mostly conducts it’s activities in Greater Varanasi ( adjoining outskirts of the main city ) and focuses both on rural and urban communities .
