www.cmas.ca

As a state-of-the-art multi disciplinary technological education and research centre, CMAS was designed to increase the awareness and understanding, as well as support the research and development, of the specialized techniques of minimal access surgery and surgical innovation. The vision of the Centre is three fold, education and skills training to advance the caliber and scope of minimal access training, research and development in robotics and surgical innovations, and telehealth through the development of mission critical telehealth applications. These applications will incorporate the newly developed innovations and provide support to the surgeons and the communities in which they practice. CMAS was the first centre in Canada to perform telerobotic surgery. As well, Dr. Anvari has also been the mentor to over 100 telementoring cases all across Ontario and Quebec. CMAS currently runs 20 to 25 courses each year to train surgeons, fellows, residents, nurses and allied healthcare professionals on the latest techniques of minimal access surgery and provides a mentorship program to assist and support surgeons in adopting these innovative techniques.
