Sydney Polo Club is Australia’s oldest polo club with its roots dating as far back as 1870. The Sydney Town and Country Journal reported on 15th of August, 1874 that the first known polo match in Australia was played at Sydney’s Moore Park with Sydney Polo Club being the first polo club in the Southern Hemisphere. Sydney Polo Club continued into the 1880’s and 1890’s and it is believed Banjo Patterson was an active member during this time. The NSW Polo Association was formed in 1892; the year ‘Banjo’ composed the ‘Geebung Polo Club’. Nestled elegantly beneath the iconic Blue Mountains with 6km of Hawkesbury River frontage, Sydney Polo Club, in conjunction with Argosy Agricultural Group, owns and maintains over 500 acres of prime agricultural land. Sydney Polo Club boasts 6 international quality polo fields, 2 indoor equestrian arenas, 48 stables and the infrastructure to support and maintain it. This means we have total quality control.
