MakerSpace & Company Foundation Limited exists to support the Sydney design community by providing affordable studio tenancies, multi-disciplinary short courses, cross pollination networking opportunities, advocacy leadership and access to specialist equipment, expertise and machinery. Since opening our warehouse doors in Marrickville, Sydney in 2015, MakerSpace & Company has achieved the following: • 6130+ short course enrolments. • 400+ members with casual access to our facilities and expert technical staff. • 48 studio tenants with an affordable base for their businesses. • 40% female studio tenants, short course teachers & members. • 50 specialist machines acquired across wood, metal, ceramics, digital and recycled plastics. As a not-for-profit, all donations are utilised to support our growing community of makers. Donations have been incremental in the development of new training programs, purchasing and installing new equipment, maintaining existing equipment, subsidising studio tenancy expenses, promoting the work of our members to new audiences and providing employment pathways for teachers, technicians, students and designers in residence.
