With no natural predators and rapid reproduction, trillions of lionfish have invaded the Caribbean and are slaughtering the local fish populations and decimating coral reefs, an important natural resource that produces 50% of the world’s oxygen. We work with artisanal fishing communities in the Caribbean to spear dive lionfish. This eliminates bycatch from the supply chain and combats destructive trawl fishing.
