The Bharat Army was formed during the Cricket World Cup 1999 in England at the India v Pakistan match at Old Trafford, Manchester. A group of four passionate Indian Cricket fans from different parts of the UK came together in support of the team and met each other throughout the earlier stages of the World Cup. Soon after the tournament, they decided to form the Indian cricket team’s first official supporters group -The Bharat Army. The objective of the Bharat Army is to bring together passionate fans of Indian Cricket from all over the world under an organized supporters group that travel and create one voice in support of the team. Passion, Loyalty & Respect – regardless of whether we #WinLoseOrDraw –These are the core values the Bharat Army ask members to adhere to which has resulted in building a strong bond with the players that represent Team India, whilst also gaining the respect of the entire cricketing fraternity. The Bharat Army has now grown from being a U.K. based supporters group to having a large global presence with regional heads in U.K. India, UAE, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, USA and Canada. Over the last 5 years the Bharat Army has seen tremendous growth in its following with its patriotic band of loyal supporters, they have become recognized by Team India and the global cricketing media as the Official Team India Supporters Group.
