David Cherry and Associates
www.davidcherry.com.auI am a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist who has been working for 33 years. I have extensive experience in providing training for staff in the health, welfare, disability and education sectors on a range of topics including: Handle with Care-Staff Safety and Defusing Situations where Individuals may be Aggressive; Handling Difficult People, Behaviour and Situations; Report Writing and Coping with Cross Examination; Case Notes and Record Keeping; Managing Difficult Calls; Resilience; Managing Behaviours of Concern; Supervision; Difficult Performance Conversations and; The Occasional Counsellor (a workshop for those who are not employed in a counselling role but are called upon to give others emotional support). I also run training for staff in local, state and commonwealth government departments and have extensive experience in running training in schools. In early 2014 I developed a series of articles that were put on the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development's intranet to assist principals and other senior staff to manage potentially difficult situations with parents and other visitors to their school. Over a period of 25 years I have developed specialist training packages for a range of different organisations to meet particular training needs. For example, earlier this year I developed a one day training packagef for HR department in a large health provider to help clarify and re-define their role and work as effectively as possible with their client group. I have recently moved into developing on-line learning packages and anticipate that this is something I will do more of in the future. I live in Mullumbimby in northern New South Wales I regularly travel to Victoria and other parts of Australia to run training. www.davidcherry.com.au and www.handlewithcare.com.au
