STAT is an acronym that stands for Such a Time As This. It is also a play on words in that the word "stat" (often used in medical contexts) means immediately. The meaning is that the time is now and the time is urgent. STAT Worldwide, Inc. is a faith based charity that seeks to inspire and motivate people to follow the example of Christ by feeding the hungry, bringing justice to the oppressed, and meeting basic needs for those who are unable to provide for themselves. We believe that the many and multiplied problems in our world such as the global problems of poverty and injustice will only be solved by massive action on the parts of people with the means to act. We believe that each person has a purpose and that that purpose is meant to solve a problem in our world. We believe that only as each person wakes up to their purpose and begins operating in it, will we see progress made against global human suffering. We believe that as each person begins to operate in their capacity to meet needs and serve others they will gain a sense of well-being and fulfillment that is not possible by any other means. Therefore, STAT Worldwide's purpose is two-fold: STAT Worldwide exists to be the catalyst that begins this "waking up" process; waking up to the needs of the world and mobilizing each individual in their part in meeting them and STAT Worldwide exists to improve the quality of life of participants by guiding them in their pursuit of purpose and thereby increasing their sense of satisfaction with life.
