The Frances Thompson Education Foundation nurtures Black trans and non-binary students and funds educational equity, discourse, and theory. To create a more equitable future for the Black trans and non-binary community, TFTEF seeks to put Black trans and non-binary folks in control of their narratives with the tools and skills they need to succeed. Their work is accomplished through a mixture of direct scholarships to Black trans and non-binary students, quality of life research, and the 2022 launch of The Frances Thompson Academic Journal. The Frances Thompson Education Foundation is the first and only nationally incorporated organization that provides direct education funding for the Black Trans community.
