ECLA is an Academic Research Organization devoted to provide support and expertise for the conduct of clinical trials in Latin America. With headquarters located in Rosario, Argentina, offices in Montevideo -Uruguay and local representations in Sao Paulo-Brazil, Temuco-Chile, Lima-Peru, Bucaramanga-Colombia and Quito-Ecuador, ECLA leads the coordination of clinical trials in the region. In the early days of 1987, ECLA designed and conducted the first full-scale clinical trial in the setting of acute myocardial infarction in collaboration with Oxford University, UK. Since then, more than 30.000 patients have been enrolled in controlled clinical trials. ECLA helps the pharmaceutical industry in its efforts to bring cutting edge therapies to the marketplace by providing a wide range of services: - Academic leadership - Project, site and regulatory management - Monitoring - Quality Assurance - Pharmacy - Financial and legal assistance - Data management and statistical support ECLA has been collaborating with worldwide academic organizations and pharmaceutical companies for the design, set up and conduct of clinical trials in the following therapeutic areas: cardiology, diabetes, epidemiology, oncology, neurology, pneumology and vaccines.
