E-Flux is a recognized leader in the environmental monitoring industry based in Fort Collins, Colorado. We specialize in measuring petroleum biodegradation rates in soil. Our patented technology for measuring the rate of carbon dioxide soil gas flux is used to estimate the rate of contaminant biodegradation at LNAPL-contaminated sites, a term also known as natural source zone depletion (NSZD). Our technology is easy to use, does not have moving parts, does not need power, and uses carbon isotopic analysis to remove the interference of non-contaminant related carbon sources in the ground. E-Flux’s industry founder Julio Zimbron started the company in 2013, and continues to lead it. E-Flux is a client company of Colorado State University, hosted at CSU’s Research and Innovation Center. Our measurements are used at sites across the globe. They provide cost effective ways of mapping contaminant sources, and determining their rate of biodegradation by native soil microbes. These rates provide a performance reference for active remedies for petroleum remediation.
