Did you know that 1 in 7 residents of Helena struggles with hunger? Helena Food Share was founded in 1987 to help provide emergency food to our neighbors who face hunger. These neighbors who come to Helena Food Share because they are facing difficult times and need help with food while they experience difficulty paying medical bills, struggling with a disability, finding their way through a layoff, or simply because they're doing as best they can to make ends meet with a low or fixed income. No matter their circumstances, we are dedicated to serving with dignity and respect and providing them with food to help them through. Thanks to the partnership of many in the Helena community, Helena Food Share... • provides emergency food for more than 1,500 local families in the Helena area each month • serves nearly 1,100 elementary school students with a weekend Kid Pack of nutritious snacks • distributes nearly 6,000 pounds of food every day we are open to local families in need • receives and distributes more than a million pounds of food through donations from local grocery stores and community food drives • receives 1,300 volunteer hours per month from more than 200 volunteers For more information about Helena Food Share, please visit us at helenafoodshare.org.
