www.flfchicago.orgFamily Legacy Foundation Story: Born from two career educators' ideas, Family Legacy Foundation was created to help minimize the effects of poverty for low-income families by improving their education. The priority of Family Legacy's Adult Educational Services Division is to improve adult literacy and the college enrollment rates of first-generation low-income adults. Through a TRIO (EOC) Educational Opportunity Center Grant from the Department of Education, Family Legacy's Adult Educational Services Division can help make: a (GED) high school equivalency education; and (Post-Secondary Education) Trade School, Professional Certificate, Associates Degree, and Bachelors Degree, accessible to adult participants 19 years and older. Through an Adult Volunteer Literacy Program Grant from the Illinois Secretary of State and State Librarian Department, Family Legacy's Adult Educational Services Division offers Adult Literacy Tutoring to 17 years and older participants. All of our Adult Educational Services are offered free of charge to our community partners and participants. .
