Living without a computer, Internet or smart-phone is hardly imaginable in today's world. Inevitably, children and parents are increasingly confronted with digital technologies. It is therefore important to develop competences that make children aware of opportunities, chances and risks related with digital media. At KidsCodeLab, we support children and teenagers in developing curiosity and skills to actively shape the digital world and not only passively consume its content. We develop games, programme robots, create animations and play logical games - all in a learning-by-doing mode. The focus is on the playful development and promotion of mathematical and technical competencies. Incidentally, creativity and teamwork are strengthened: at KidsCodeLab coding is namely not the purpose in itself, it is a way to acquire competencies essential for living in the digital world of today, and yet more of tomorrow. At KidsCodeLab the language of the digital world can be discovered with much fun and joy.
