The Netweaver Network is an international community of netweavers with ready access to the best ideas for designing and facilitating their networks.Together we will improve netweavers’ capacity to guide their networks in innovating responses to the most pressing environmental challenges. What is Netweaving? Growth in the number and size of social-impact organizations led to competition for the public’s attention and support. The idea of collaboration and sharing resources is starting to take off and we see collaborative learning networks forming to strategically organize people and resources to solve complex socio-ecological problems. Some organizations are members of multiple networks, each with a unique purpose. Each network has a network leader, or netweaver, who manages and fosters the connections within their network. Their job to keep the network healthy requires knowledge of collaboration tools, techniques and resources. Acquiring the proper strategies and tools for their network is difficult and often results in a trial and error approach. The Netweaver Network will provide Netweavers with access to the most important resource, each other. Members can learn from each other’s experiences and create a database of knowledge on networking practices. Shared learning on how to manage a network and the creation of a netweaving community will result in stronger, healthier networks which will enhance the network experience for individual organizations who are making the change happen.
