A leader in orchestral music in Northern Ontario, the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra performs a 6-concert season annually at Glad Tidings Tabernacle, led by Music Director Dr. Victor Sawa. In addition to its regular season, the SSO participates in a variety of education and outreach initiatives, including Tunes and Tales (in partnership with the Sudbury Public Library), in-school presentations, a Family-oriented Holiday concert and a Conservatory of Music, which provides professional level training to individuals and ensembles of all ages. A pillar of the Sudbury arts and cultural community, over 5,000 individuals attend concert performances each season, with an additional 2,500 participating in outreach and education programmes.
