History The UCB Theatre is a comedy powerhouse, launched in 1998 by Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh, Ian Roberts and Matt Besser. We've since expanded to 4 theaters - two in New York and two in Los Angeles - that showcase high-quality comedy from established and up & coming comedians, seven nights a week. We entertain hundreds of thousands of patrons annually. The UCB Training Center is home to the only accredited sketch and improv training program in the country.
