Send It Society

Why Did You Start This? I decided to start up the Send it Society in January of 2019 when we lost my dear brother Matthew Arnold to suicide; Matt helped me combat my depression in 2016 when I left the Marine Corps through mountain biking. We went out almost every week, sometimes a few times a week; just to ride, bullshit, and maybe grab a beer and talk. We ended up forming our own little “riding team”; Team Couch Life For Life, started as a joke with the idea that we were just a bunch of lazy couch slobs but we loved riding enough to get off the couch. We raced some seasons, got shirts made, in 2019 season we were going to try to actually form the team and lock in team sponsors instead of individual. But as is the way of the world, things get out of control and I found myself lost in work and not prioritising riding, so we didn’t ride in 2018 really. Matt and I both wanted to ride, but whenever we’d figure out a good time something would come up. I can’t allow myself to give up riding, but I know it’s going to be hard with him gone. So I’ve got to make it mean something to get back out on the trails. Continuing Matt’s legacy of kindness, compassion, and an absolute passion for Mountain Biking and the outdoors is why.
