The Allan Baudoin Bootmaker Atelier was born out of an unexpected encounter between two diametrically opposed individuals sharing a passion for beautifully made things. Allan Baudoin With degrees in computer science and business, this former Apple employee turned independant shoemaker started Allan Baudoin Bootmaker out of a desire to re-connect with this traditional, century-old craft and keep it relevant in our digitally fuelled society. With no previous knowledge or training whatsoever, Allan learns about the beautiful craft of handmade shoemaking every day since he met Kasim in October 2013. Kasim Yldir Kasim has been crafting handmade shoes since he was a young boy in 1967, a long career in shoemaking has seen him travel around the world to work for the best bespoke ateliers. He finally settled in London where he eventually started his own cobbler business and met Allan to form a partnership. He specialises in hand lasting and bottoming, the essence of shoemaking, a true art almost forgotten that makes for the most beautiful shoes.
