Pakistan MNP Database (Guarantee) Limited ‘PMD’, established in October 2005, owned by 4 Cellular Mobile Operators of Pakistan. PMD was initially mandated to operate the Number Portability Clearinghouse, however, over the years other operations related to Regulatory Compliance were also housed at PMD. With passage of time, PMD has emerged into CMOs’ credible technology partner and contributes significantly towards achieving their business objectives. With more than a decade of delivering Telco-grade Information and Communication Services to CMOs’, PMD has unmatched Service Availability and Security Infrastructure. PMD chosen to house the Central Database for all CMOs’ active subscribers. This Central Database is to enforce the “5 Voice-SIMs per CNIC” and “3 Data-Only SIMs per CNIC” limit. Mobile Subscribers of Pakistan can check the count of Voice & Data SIMs against their CNICs/Foreign IDs (Passport, POR, POC) by sending CNIC/FID to the Short-Code 668, operated by PMD. PMD also host the Central Middleware for Common Biometric Verification System, which allows all CMOs’ to undertake the GSM-Sales activities on their Common BVS Devices across the entire country. The Common BVS Project is first JV of its kind in Pakistan amongst the CMOs’. PMD serves as sole Mediation Gateway/Aggregator for CMOs’ KYC data. Currently serving Financial Industry in Asaan Mobile Account Project (National Financial Inclusion Strategy of Pakistan) in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority.
