TechForGrowth Foundation
www.t4gf.orgWhy TechForGrowth Foundation ? « Two dominant visions are currently trying to impose their model of influence on the rest of the world: first, those embodied by major technological groups, like America, based on a monopolistic and financial approach to technology. On the other hand, those embodied by the “technological states” like Asia, are based on an ideological and political approach to technology. Between these two visions, France and Europe so far have no credible alternative to offer to the South, therefore remain absent from the current battle of influence. These two big models only reinforce globalization based on the exploitation of local resources – in particular, the data of the citizens, the companies and the States – without any sharing of value with the countries concerned, are not tenable at term. Globalization is changing- by 2050 we will collectively have to feed, transport, care, house, protect, educate, and provide heat to 10 billion people. This includes 7.5 mainly grouped countries of the world- in the South especially because there are fewer natural resources- less raw materials and less energy consumption. Therefore we must imagine and deploy a third way to provide this comfort, based on an entrepreneurial, social and sustainable vision of technology embodied by the French “soft power”. That is to say, our ability to support local innovation and the production of ideas and norms not only in the economic, social and cultural field but also, now, in the technological field» It is to help overcome these immense challenges that Benoit RANINI and Olivier MIDIERE have decided to create TechForGrowth Foundation (T4GF), an endowment fund intended to bring intelligent digital solutions to the southern countries, guaranteeing them their technological independence as well as their economic prosperity.
