Chartered Engineers Pacific formerly known as the Western Canada Group of Chartered Engineers was established in 1987 and serves the members of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStrutE), the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) and the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) located in British Columbia, the Yukon, Washington State and Alaska. The purpose of the Group is to extend the Institutions' services to members locally, and to assist local Professional Engineers, Engineers-in-Training and Technologists with aspirations to register professionally in Europe. The Group has approximately 800 members and is administered from London, England by the IMechE. Locally, the Group is managed by a Committee. For 2020, the Chairman is Dr. Suresh Vishwakarma CEng MIET (email chairman@charteredengineerspacific.ca) and the Honorary Secretary is Douglas Yee CEng MICE (email secretary@charteredengineerspacific.ca). The vision of the Group is to deliver inspirational engineering events and networking opportunities. Each year it provides six to eight events including technical presentations and an annual dinner.
