Uniontown school district serves students who reside in Bourbon and Crawford County. USD 235 is comprised of 309 square miles, the majority of which is rural. The 450 students who attend Uniontown schools reside in the communities of Uniontown, Bronson, Redfield, Mapleton, Hiattville, Porterville, and Xenia. The majority of the students who attend West Bourbon Elementary and Uniontown Junior High and High School live in Bourbon County, which is one of the thirty-three original counties of Kansas created by the first Territorial Assembly of 1855.
