The Queens Foundation
www.thequeensfoundation.orgSo she can be the generation of change. The Queens Foundation's (TQF) mission is to develop and promote under-served young women to reach their greatest potential to higher education and leadership through a society of women across North Carolina. TQF specifically targets young women who will be first in their family to earn a four-year degree and who live in poverty. TQF provides both a middle and high school program track lasting no less than 4-7 years, completing a young woman's first completed year of college. TQF's programs are designed to address a local and state-wide issue of poverty and decline in workforce readiness (development), by advancing a young woman's access to higher education and exposure to opportunity. Participants are selected with the goal to empower them to break the cycle of poverty for her family and lead her family's next generation to become highly educated and economically stable. 94 % of the young women that have entered our program have matriculated to a four year university. With the statistics of a students living in poverty and first generation entering college being less than 40%, we are confident we have made a substantial impact in our states' longterm ability to develop and be a state with a thriving and growing economy. As a volunteer-based organization, The Queen's Foundation has dedicated professionals in each region we serve raising funds, securing mentors and building awareness in the local communities across the state, that we serve. The opportunities to get involved with TQF range from just a few hours each year, to full stakeholder where you may invest several hours per week. This can include becoming a one-time volunteer, program volunteer, leadership team member, board member, mentor or investor.
