Safeguard DNA Diagnostic Inc. (SDDI) is a Philippine Joint Venture company with an equal partnership with Safeguard Biosystems, formed to provide a Molecular Microbiology diagnostic laboratory delivering rapid detection and identification to primarily infectious disease and COVID-19 for the Philippine healthcare. One of the largest volume blood culture laboratories has completed its validation of the Safeguard Microplex Technology and it is prepared to submit to NYS in February, 2020 The results of its validation study are confidential, but several facts have been shared: -In the required parameters of Accuracy, Precision, and Reproducibility, the LDT performed exceptionally well -Their clinical utility trial of 1500 clinic patients, with results compared to blood cultures, is still pending -As a result, the validation included 130 samples collected for hematology at the same time as the blood cultures. Remnant volumes were all much less than the recommended volume for the Microplex, but a majority of the samples agreed with the blood cultures.
