www.basmitak.comSAIB | Society for Aid, Improvement, & Bridging – Basmitak Hatallim, is a nonprofit organization that works with refugees on development programs in the fields of Livelihood, Education, Health, and Rehabilitation. The organization was formed back in 2010 and was part of the German Jordanian University until it became an independent registered nonprofit organization in 2016. Our community: A community of fixed members and volunteers where charity and voluntary work are not singular acts of kindness, but a lifestyle that keeps a shadow. Our vision is to provide the vulnerable societies in the refugee camps with the basic tools and skillsets that would allow them to sustain themselves and independently tend to their own needs. By achieving such an objective we are hoping to gradually help them to be a self-sufficient and sustainable community that no longer depends on others, but rather has the resources and abilities that allow it to stand on its own feet. The Gaza Refugee Camp is but a start for SAIB, in ten years or so we aspire to see the camp become a success story and a model for all communities on how to pull oneself up after being knocked down and forgotten for years. We hope to see the people of the camp take initiative and take charge of their own lives and fates, to witness the children there grow up and be of help to their families and community. We hope to give them the leg up they need to paint the life they want for themselves.
