The Sanitation Foundation, formerly known as the Foundation for New York’s Strongest, is the official nonprofit partner of the New York City Department of Sanitation. Our mission is two-fold: celebrate and support the essential Sanitation workforce and advance the Department’s ambitious zero-waste agenda. We create partnerships with DSNY, businesses and community organizations to support DSNY’s work and engage all New Yorkers in making our City healthier, cleaner, and more sustainable.
