Rider’s Angel is an integrated device for motorcycles designed to detect accidents and notify emergency services. This project started at the heart. My best friend, James Schutz, hit a guardrail on his motorcycle due to another driver’s negligence. After being incapacitated for over an hour on the side of the road, a passing police officer saw the crash and called EMS. A helicopter then flew him to the closest hospital. James was in a coma for over three days before his family and I were notified. There must be innovation to the motorcycle industry to prevent these delays from happening. The time to find James and the delay in alerting the family that the accident has occurred is not acceptable. I am driven to build a team and develop Rider’s Angel so these issues can be eliminated.
