The secret to Charlton's food was that Chef Bob created every menu item to be celiac-friendly/gluten-free BEFORE it was placed or served on rolls or gluten-free bread. This means that 95% of every component of a food item, sauce, breading, dressing recipe was homemade, celiac-friendly/ gluten-free and NO ONE KNEW! Charlton's never closed in 2020 serving our community by preparing meals for the elderly, veterans, shut-ins, catering donated meals for doctors, nurses, all first responders and with everything was shut-down, giving people a feeling of normalcy which we were rewarded by the community by keeping the lights on at Charlton's. We were known for the crispiest, jumbo wings, sauces and the price of my #1 selling item killed my small business. Super Bowl 2020 I paid $1.75/lbs. for 40# case of wings and by Memorial day of 2021 it was $3.9/lbs. So, to diversify, Chef Bob created on April 18, 2020, Dirty Smoked Fried Chicken. Followed by Chicken Strips, the DIRTY Smoked Chicken sandwich and our Birds and Bees Salad. All items were celiac-friendly/gluten-free and although unique, amazing food, it was clear by December 2021, that the economy was just getting worse and unless you wanted the government to own you, it was time to shut down restaurant operations. On January 26, 2022 at 9 pm, Chef Bob closed his Johns Creek restaurant location and decided to move his business in a new direction. Trying to find a way to bottle his sauces for retail, farmers markets and online, have been fruitless. Even those people who have done it, won't let their secrets go so we pray for assistance everyday. Chef Bob currently makes sauces to order which is fun for those neighbors that want a Gallon of Ranch dressing or Buffalo Flying sauce. Need a fix, give Chef a call.
