Carolina Migrant Network

www.carolinamigrantnetwork.org

Carolina Migrant Network’s (CMN) core mission is to build and sustain services for migrants targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to access compassionate and competent pro-bono legal representation. We are the only organization serving both detained and non-detained immigrants in North Carolina. CMN provides ‘full representation,’ which in this context means that we will represent someone for both immigration bond matters and their entire case whether or not they are released from ICE custody, and is dedicated to creating a network of pro-bono non-immigration attorneys trained to engage in this same work. CMN additionally provides holistic services that meet needs outside of traditional legal services. This includes supporting the well-being and safety of not only individual ‘clients,’ but their family members as well. This is especially critical when one family member is detained or when someone is released from detention back into their home and community. CMN bridges the gap between legal services and advocacy efforts and aims to harness the energy of community members who oppose ICE actions in our state and provide meaningful support to individuals taken into ICE custody, and we are committed to listening to what impacted communities are asking for in light of increased raids and hostility.
