The Greater Victoria Sport Tourism Commission is the successor to SportHost Victoria, which was set up following the 1994 Commonwealth Games. The goal of the organization is to a better connect sport hosting with tourism marketing in this region. To attract more significant sporting events here for the benefit of the people of Victoria, the sports community along with hotel and business owners.
