Hailey College of Commerce is a constituent undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate college of the University of the Punjab in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Established on March 4, 1927, after the name of Sir Malcolm Hailey, the then Governor of the Punjab and the Chancellor of the university. It is the oldest specialized institution of commerce in Asia. Initially a three years B. Com. Degree course was introduced to impart sound and quality education in the field of Commerce in this part of the sub-continent. Later on in 1954, 2-year M.Com Programme was also started. On 26th March 2003, Hailey College of Banking & Finance started its working at the old building of Hailey College at Allama Iqbal Campus to offer degrees of BBA (Hons.) & MBA in Banking Finance and I & RM. On 2nd May 2005, an other department of commerce has been raised at Gujranwala Campus to facilitate the student of Gujranwala and its surrounding areas, taking education at their door step. Presently the College is offering admissions to B.Com (Hons), M.Com (1-1/2 and 3-1/2 years), M.Phill leading to Phd, Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting (DCMA), Diploma in Entrepreneurship Development (DED) and PhD in Commerce. The college houses a library of 6,048 square feet (561.9 m2) with updated books and environment that holds more than 100,000 books on all fields of commerce and business. Faculty The Principal & Dean of the College is Prof. Dr. Hassan Mobeen Alam, the full faculty comprises thirty seven members together with a large number of visiting faculty having degrees in commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Law, and Social Sciences.
