HouseCheck Foundation
www.housecheckfoundation.orgFrom its founding, HouseCheck has valued the concept of giving back to the communities that we serve. As a result of this commitment, we’re establishing a Foundation as an extension of our organization in order to serve others. We believe that the home should provide a safe haven for all. But unfortunately, that’s not the case in thousands of homes across the U.S. and around the world. The mission of our HouseCheck Foundation is to help stop domestic violence. Through the HouseCheck Foundation, we’ll team up with other organizations and individuals to support a series of family shelters across the country where abused women, along with their children and pets, can find immediate safety and security. In order to have an immediate impact, the HouseCheck Foundation will begin its work by providing grants to existing domestic violence shelters. Over time, as more funding becomes available, the Foundation plans to launch efforts to construct and manage shelters that will offer an escape from the pattern of abuse that afflicts so many women. As we provide shelter for battered women, we’ll seek to partner with organizations specialized in providing effective counseling for these women and for their children. In addition, we’ll help provide legal aid, job training, and assistance with solidifying a whole host of necessary life skills. Overall, the HouseCheck Foundation is intent on connecting women to all the resources they need to overcome the difficulties they’ve faced, moving confidently into a more satisfying, productive lifestyle. The HouseCheck Foundation will be completely committed to providing help and hope to women whose safety is threatened due to violence. All of us at HouseCheck are very pleased to be contributing to such a worthwhile goal, and we’re eager to move forward and make a difference.
