Akara Robotics
www.akara.aiAkara’s mission is to modernize public health using technology. We are doing this through data-driven automation that makes healthcare settings safer and run more efficiently. Akara are a spin-out from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland’s #1 university. The company emerged from more than a decade of research in cutting-edge robotics, artificial intelligence, applied microbiology, and user-centred design. Our team have extensive experience deploying service robots in the healthcare industry, and our work has previously featured on the cover of Time magazine. Our technology has been developed in collaboration with leading hospitals in Europe and has been validated in numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications. Our deep knowledge is evidenced by the fact that we were the first to validate the effectiveness of a fully autonomous UV disinfection robot. We were also the first to demonstrate the ability for a disinfection robot to reduce turnaround times in a clinical setting. More recently, Akara has been awarded significant funding by the European Innovation Council (EIC), which will aid the creation of a robot production facility in Dublin, expand the commercial operations and hire a larger team! If you are interested in joining a fast-paced robotics start-up, check out our open roles here at https://www.akara.ai/careers Akara are also creators of 'Stevie', a socially assistive robot developed to support frontline staff and residents in retirement community settings. In 2019, Stevie featured on the cover of Time magazine, and was later named by the outlet as one of its best inventions of 2019.
