We are a network of experts from industry and academic research and actively participate in the industry development in our fields. As a non-profit association we offer a neutral platform for the technical-scientific exchange between science and industry. DGMK research projects are another focus of our work. Here we pursue the goal of application-oriented research for our main topics. The research funds come from both industry and public research funds. In cooperation with the DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung e.V. (German Institute for Standardization) and the industry, the Technical Committee Mineral Oil and Fuel Standardization (FAM) of the DGMK is actively involved in the standardization of fuels, combustibles and lubricants on the national, European and international level. Since its foundation, the DGMK has formed the German National Committee of the World Petroleum Council (WPC). The German National Committee sends experts from the industry to participate as representatives of the German oil and gas industry in the organisation committees of the triennial World Petroleum Congress.
