Beautiful Canoe is Aston University's student-run software development company. We craft bespoke software according to our clients' needs, while developing the people who do it. Each summer we run an internship programme, where students work on a range of projects for our clients. In addition to the practical experience of working on a project with a real client, interns receive hands-on training in agile team software development, that complements the more formal side of their education. We make use of the latest technologies and in-house coaching, to ensure the highest quality in both software for our clients and experience for our interns. We are a non-profit-making organisation associated with Aston University, reinvesting our surplus to develop the technology leaders of the future. Our work is created by students, however we are led by a team drawing on experience in academia, commercial software development, charity governance and agile team coaching.
