Shivganga is a non-profit & voluntary organization working for Holistic Rural Development in Jhabua. In the last 15 years, a remarkable impact has been made in terms of Community Empowerment, Water Conservation, Social-Entrepreneurship, Vocational Training, Plantation, and Livelihood generation. To experience this unfolding change, every year hundreds of students from eminent institutes like IITs, IIMs, NITIE, TISS Mumbai, etc visit Jhabua. A new model of rural development is getting constructed where tribal youths abuzz with traditional wisdom and students of premier grad-schools are working together. Today Shivganga has a team of social-entrepreneurs consisting of both tribal and premier grad-school youths. They have initiated two social-entrepreneurial ventures in Jhabua: • Jhabua Crafts • Jhabua Naturals Impact numbers: • 15,000+ young Paramathis have been trained by imparting Inspiration, Knowledge, and Skills. • 900+ crore liter annual water conservation structures built by community participation. • 131 community forests have been revived. • 2 lakh+ saplings planted by community participation. • Ground teams in 350+ villages. Footprint in 700+ villages. Shri Mahesh Sharma (President Shivganga) has been awarded Padma Shri by the President of India in 2019. Shivganga is the only social organization to win the National Water Mission Award by Jal Shakti Ministry GOI, for exemplary work in water conservation. Shri Harsh Chouhan (Founder) has been active in the field of social work since 1988. He was appointed as Chairperson of NCST - National Commission for Scheduled Tribe by the President of India in 2021. Shivganga invites all the students and professionals to have exposure to tribal values, culture, and ground realities.
