The devastating impact of more frequent and extreme weather anomalies will place cities everywhere at risk. Communities will no longer be able to rely solely on the ability of first-responders who will become overwhelmed by the scope of the disasters. In order to save lives and minimize property loss, and maintain governance and civil order cities will need to re-think their emergency preparation, response and relief strategies to include the active participation and engagement of their communities and citizens. As a small country with limited resources, Israel has had to adapt and remain resilient in the face of frequent rounds of violence. A key to understanding Israeli resiliency is the tendency of Israelis to question, challenge, organize, take initiative and improvise. CRP has turned this into a methodology that can be adapted, taught and integrated anywhere in the world. Our methods include: Stress Testing - a comprehensive review of assets, threats and procedures to determine the level of resilience and preparedness based on the Israeli experience In-Depth Community Engagement - guided by professional staff on-site and embedded in communities Professional Workshops - to raise awareness and review key resilience-building techniques Real Time Support During An Emergency - including on-site assistance We are an Israeli team lead by experienced policy-makers, professionals and practitioners. Our trainers and guides are young people who have dedicated their lives to empowering resilient communities. Each of the founders has played a key role in helping to shape public policy regarding the role of civil society in an emergency. We have all played active roles in responding to national emergencies with more than 60 years of combined experience.
